For over 30 years, the European Medical Students’ Orchestra and Choir (EMSOC) has brought together music-loving young people from medical and medical-related courses and professions, as well as young doctors from across Europe. The aim to share the participants’ passion for music and to create bonds of friendship and cooperation between future doctors from all over the continent is one of the transversal and fundamental bases of this project. During a ten-day project phase, which travels through the European countries every year and is organised independently by the participants, a musically demanding concert programme is developed and performed in two charity concerts at the end of the intensive rehearsal phase. In addition to the rehearsal work, excursions, city tours and country-specific programmes give the host country the opportunity to present its typical features and characteristics. Moreover, these meetings allow young Europeans to discuss current European issues.
EMSOC 2025 is already being planned and will take place in Poland.
